Q and A

Will LEEP help us with our shipping costs?

No. All shipping costs must be borne by the sending agency when shipping overseas or they can be assumed by an American agency that wants surplus property shipped to them.

What is the cheapest way to send overseas or to another America agency

We recommend the USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Board Game box. It is approx $15.00 to send up to 70 lbs. If shipping overseas it is the same cost. You just have to attach a U.S. Customs form.

Can we ship our used equipment direct to LEEP?

Only in emergencies. Our storage is extremely limited.

Can we ship old firearms?

No!. Only non lethal items.  A suggested list is on the home page.

Do batteries have to been shipped separately?

No. But they do need to be removed from an item and it is preferable they are separated in the box itself. But you can ship them in one box.

Does our agency get a tax break for donating used equipment?

Not at this time.

If we ship overseas, how can we be certain our donated equipment does not fall in the wrong hands?

All equipment is shipped to American military personnel only! They are responsible for the proper distribution.

LEEP helps transfer used police equipment for our Armed Forces to be distributed to overseas security.  However we have had so many requests from American law enforcement agencies that need equipment,  and with the wars winding down, we have decided to give them a place to post their needs on this site.  Agencies with a surplus can send to America agencies or our Armed Forces.
