EQUIPMENT TO AFGHANISTAN

Hello. I am currently serving a 12 month tour in Afghanistan on a
reconstruction team. I saw on the internet about the protest at Berkley
at the Marine Corps recruiting station. I am a woman, college graduate
and have always strived to "do my part."
So, I just wanted to say . . .

you're welcome.

Hearing about the protests doesn't anger me as it probably
should. It just reaffirms America's Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and
Airmen are doing what we do best. I provide you that opportunity and it
is me that allows your voice to be heard.

I will continue to serve proudly and allow you to enjoy your freedoms because I know what grave issues face many societies less fortunate than ours. Here, we have put young women back in school, built roads, and given families a sense of hope that was alien to them for decades. We continue to go against terrorists daily who believe a woman should never emerge from her home among many other ideals that would scare you death.

You guys . . . well, go get your Starbucks latte and go back to the mall. And do it without fear because America's business will be taken care of by the finest of what America has to offer . . .

The US military men and women.

The support we have received from the general public has been overwhelming this year. But with everything, there is always a minority. Just thought I'd speakto the minority that actually made the news. And you know why this makes news . . . because its an unpopular, minority view that most Americans cringe at.

I don't cringe, I just smile and think if there are Americans back home that have time for breast feeding vigils in a parking lot, we have provided you an incredible gift that some have paid the ultimate price for. And luckly, the desire to serve will never cease with young, potential Marines or any other service member.

But you may continue to do what you  "believe" in . . . its good entertainment for the many who know more than where Afghanistan and Iraq is on a map and what they see in the paper.

We are living it . . .

You will never understand the life we lead and responsibility we willfully and proudly shoulder.

We wouldn't have it any other way.
